Mizuno Cup pictures

Here are a few pictures of the Mizuno Cup courtesy of Dr. JP.

Now, before you violently react and cry out how come my (pretty face, ugly face, or whatever is appropriate) isn’t here? How come pictures of our team aren’t here.

Now before you do that, ask yourself this question.

Did you take pictures? (If you answer yes, proceed to next question, if you answer no, go home)

Did you send those pictures to me? (If you answer yes, then your pictures are probably here, if you answer no, THEN YOU DON’T HAVE ANY RIGHT TO COMPLAIN WHY YOUR PICTURES AREN’T HERE!!!)

I hope I have made that clear.

More of DR JP’s pictures

I was going to do this with Flickr, but I still couldn’t figure out how to.

Since there is another tournament this weekend and presumably, more pictures, I guess I have to upload this before another batch of pics.

See you at CCSC this weekend.

By the way, I was told that three prominent sports personalities (two colleagues and a…) said I shouldn’t be concentrating on football because there is no market for football in Cebu.

Of course, coming from folks who have never seen a football festival, I’ll take that statement with other “informed opinions” from uninformed fools.

Note, the third to the last and last fotos are quite alike. Quite but not..

The San Roque P20 football raffle

Quick.

The San Roque Football Club has stumbled into something unique.

In the waning days of summer, just as you’d be lucky to catch a local game being played, the San Roque Football Club put on a P20 football raffle.

Just show up, pay your P20 registartion fee and boom. You get to play. Not a bad idea.

And if you have an axe to grind against a neighbor, forget about it, chances are you’d end up playing together.

In their one-day fiesta last Sunday, you don’t choose who to play for, nor does anyone for that matter. Every member is raffled off to a team.

Here are the pics.

More Pictures

Here are a few more pictures of the just concluded First Cebu Beach Football Open at the beaches of Moalboal.

The event was sanctioned by the Beach Football Association of the Philippines, and I think it is the first event that the BFAP has sanctioned here.

There were 16 teams in all two divisions, with 11 joining the men’s side.

San Roque rules Cebu Beach Football Open

IT SEEMS playing regularly in a field that is more sand than grass is an advantage for the San Roque Football Club (SRFC).

This after the Mandaue-based club swept both Men’s and Women’s divisions in the just concluded 1st Cebu Beach Football Open at the Basdako Beach in Moalboal over the weekend.

“It’s an advantage if most of your players learn to play football, barefoot,” said SRFC’s Eleazer Toledo of their two teams.

After beating Cebu XP, a team made mostly of expatriates, in the semifinals, San Roque went on with a cardiac finish in the finals.

Palaro Pictures Part One

The Central Visayas squad bowed out after losing a tough match to Davao Region, 0-1, in their fourth game in the Palaro, knocking them out in the (What do you expect?) meet which used the double-knockout system.

After winning their first match against Iraa, 4-1, Cviraa got booted into the losers’ bracket after a humbling 1-8 loss to defending champion Western Visayas in that game (the only game I managed to watch)

Here is the first batch of pictures from the Palaro all contributed by Dr. JP, who traveled all the way to the land of the pineapples to catch their games.
