nope, didn’t end that way. it happened at the end of the game and the ref didn’t see it (common in festivals wherein no other official can help out). there was some pushing on the field then DB-Victorias went up to the grandstand to wait for the championship match.

that obviously should have been the end of the story right ? nope again.

the punched one wanted to confront the punchee and went up the grandstand. at least to his credit, he went by his lonesome and didn’t ask anybody else to fight for him. his teammates and coaches had to bring him back. there was no rumble, just words flying. there was a lot of posturing but nothing really happened.

anyway, the proverbial cooler heads prevailed, and everything was settled. the punchee explained the events leading to his punch to the mom of the punched.
the DB-Victorias manager is a close personal friend of the punched-one’s family so everything got cleared up.

some spectators though, with no connection whatsoever to both teams and with minds small as peanuts wanted something bloody to happen in order to intimidate the DB-Victorias team. yup, grown men intimidating a 15 year old player. so it was decided that the player be brought back to quarters escorted by bosconians from cebu.

finally, end of story.

what didn’t go well with many readers here was the insults made against the Sacred Heart team. review my posts and look for any personal insult i made. what i posted was my assesment of the field tactics employed by PaBol and not an attack on the players.

PaBol supporters decided to insult the Sacred Heart players. others reacted the way they want to react, i reacted the way i usually do, make a personal assesment on the tactics of the team.

i didn’t say Sacred Heart was better than PaBol. i said that Sacred Heart stuck with the game plan they prepared while PaBol didn’t adjust to the situation they found themselves in. where is the insult in that ?

ref, you mentioned “fair play”. you reacted to the reactions on the insults posted against the Sacred Heart team, that they didn’t deserve the fruits of their hard work and efforts. yet you remain silent on what what PaBol supporters are posting. where is your version of “fair play” in that ? you say you are not taking sides yet you react only to comments made against PaBol. how about reacting to comments made against Sacred Heart so that you can prove your nuetrality.

other posters here reacted with more degrading terms. why single-out my assesment of the game plan of both teams ? why consider my posting of how the players made themselves better players such a threat to your version of “fair play”. if i were you, go after the posters who used terms like “that wasn’t a REAL goal”, “boang” and “don’t deserve it”. again, i never used those terms.

the mizuno cup goals ? i listened to the other refs watching that one goal shouldn’t have counted while the other should have. i simply quoted the refs. i didn’t say PaBol cheated, again review my posts. i said that the ref got his decisions wrong, even the other refs said this but that was an irreversible decision that many understood and accepted. “fair play” was observed in that match because you didn’t hear the Sacred Heart team making a protest nor insulting PaBol despite those two “goals”, thus that KARMA comment. the team accepted the decision as part of the game. PaBol supporters should do the same.

this site was intended to hear all sides of cebufootball. a natural effect of this purpose would be to read criticisms meant to improve what needs to be improved.

i first posted that this was nothing more than sibling rivalry between both teams – human nature for sister squads. rivalries are always good for the sport, as long as it remains on the field. and one doesn’t have to be a coach of a team to take that team’s side. if the situation was reversed and PaBol got the wrong end of the stick then i would post here defending PaBol. it just so happened that i and many others felt that PaBol supporters posted unfair comments. i suggest that you review your stand and take a look at what PaBol supporters posted before you make your comment.
